My three passions in life are Jesus, family and volleyball. I began playing volleyball in middle school and then continued playing in south Florida at Port St. Lucie High School where I was the first player in the history of the school to make the Varsity team as a freshman. My junior year I was named captain of my team, and I began studying how to become a leader. I played travel ball at one of our local clubs all throughout my middle school and high school years where I made the National teams and had the opportunity to travel the US playing the highest level of competition in my age category.

I had the awesome privilege of traveling to Costa Rica on a volleyball missions trip where I helped to run camps and clinics during the day and played their local and national team in the evenings. It was on that trip that I saw first hand how the Lord could use my talent and love for volleyball as a platform to spread the Gospel.

I then went on to play at Tennessee Temple University on a full ride scholarship. After college I took some time away from volleyball to marry the love of my life (a Marine) and moved to Jacksonville, NC. I was a stay at home mother for 7 years taking care of my son (Paul, now 18 years old) and daughter (Hannah, now 16 years old).

In 2012, when my youngest reached school age, I began my coaching career as the Varsity Assistant Coach at Jacksonville Christian Academy. In 2013, I became the Varsity Head Coach at Jacksonville Christian Academy and currently still hold that position. In 2019, we started a boys team at Jacksonville Christian Academy, which I am proud to head coach as well. In 2022, I also took on the responsibility of being the JV girls head coach at the school as well. Our program at the school has grown, adding two additional fundamental teams that train and develop young players to feed our JV and Varsity teams. We went from having the traditional two teams at our school to 5 teams at our school. The last two years, our teams have won 4 conference championships.

For the past 8 years,  I have also been a full time history teacher at JCA, but in 2022, the Lord opened a door for me to leave teaching and pursue the dream of starting a volleyball club in our area. FCA was looking for an individual that loved the Lord and had a desire to spread the gospel along with having a love and knowledge of the game of volleyball to serve as our area's first FCA Coastal Volleyball Club Director. I am so excited for this opportunity to not only train athletes on how to be the best volleyball players they can be , but also to train them on how they can use the platform of volleyball to share the love of Jesus. We are not on a mission to just bring a volleyball club to our area, we are bringing a volleyball club to our area that is on a MISSI
ON!

Psalms 51:10 keeps me humbled and true. And Revelation 19, gives me hope and motivation for what is to come.

Hello, my name is Angela Lovell.  But my favorite name is “Coach”.  I have played volleyball for over 30 years including; High School, AAU, Beach, and Adult Leagues, where I have been blessed to be recognized with awards for my hard work and dedication.   After diving into private lessons I moved into coaching.  I take every opportunity to play the game I love and encourage the next generation to do the same.  I also enjoy CrossFit, woodworking, puzzles and mentoring. I believe there is a call to ensure everyone is acquainted with the love and grace of Jesus Christ, and FCA gives me the space to do that!

Verses that mean the most to me; Psalms 51:10 keeps me humbled and true.  And Revelation 19, gives me hope and motivation for what is to come.

Thessalonians 5:11 Encourage each other and build each other up

I fell in love with volleyball when my neighbors set up a net in their yard and invited me to join. I played in middle and high school and was blessed to play college volleyball and tennis at University of Virginia Wise. I was honored as a TVAC scholar athlete, an NAIA All American Scholar Athlete and inducted into the UVA Wise Athletic Hall of Fame.
After being out of the game for a little bit, I got back into it on the coaching side when my daughters became interested. I have coached at Surf City Rec many seasons and coached the U16 Tsunami's and Assisted with the U14 Tsunami's for FCA Coastal 2023-2024 season.
In my non-volleyball time I love hanging out with my family, working out, obstacle course racing, surfing and chasing the fun in life. Most importantly I love knowing that I am a child of God and that even when I am having a messy moment in life that I am His one of a kind, work in progress masterpiece.

Victor Haymon II                                                                            Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Hello, my name is Victor Haymon, or Coach Vic. I started playing volleyball my freshman year of college, and haven’t stopped playing since. I fell in love with the game, and wanted to be the best at it. I had a desire to share my love for the game with others, so I began coaching. Coaching this sport has brought me so much joy over the years. Watching my young athletes have their “light-bulb moment” on the court, is one of the greatest accomplishments a coach can have. Hearing the “I can’t” turn into “look Coach, I did it” or “did you see what I just did” is a favorite part of coaching for me.

Outside of coaching, I am the Worship Leader at Generation Baptist Church, in New Bern, NC since 2017. I also work for the church, and absolutely love it. I do play a ton of volleyball in my free time. Since moving to NC back in 2016, I have been the New Bern Adult Rec League Champion for 5 years, the Ayden Parks and Rec Adult League Champion, a 2-time Surf City Adult Rec League Champion, and a 2-time ECJVC Adult Sand League Champion. I also love playing Pickleball and spend way too much time trying to get better at it.

I have 10 years of coaching experience: 7 years club coaching experience (4 years with ECJVC, 2 years with CVPC, and 1 year with TRVC) and am the former Head Coach MS & JV, and Assistant Varsity Coach at The Epiphany School for 5 years – 2 time Conference Champion, 3 time Conference Champion Runner Up. This will be my first year coaching for FCA Coastal but am looking forward to being a part of what makes FCACVC different.

Rachel Miller

I’m so excited to be coaching for FCA! I’m from Texas where I have played volleyball since I was 10 years old. I miss playing every single day! I was an Outside hitter on varsity in high school, club volleyball, and then played 2 years at Blinn Junior College before graduating from Texas A&M University!
I am married to my best friend and we are stationed here at Camp Lejeune! Thankful that the Lord has put us here, and I’m excited to share the love of volleyball and the love of Jesus with y’all this upcoming season!!

My name is Coach Annabelle, and just like all of our amazing coaches, I love volleyball! My volleyball journey did not start off like most. I actually started off playing softball believe it or not—I had been playing since I was 7, with the goal of playing in college. I didn't find volleyball until I was in junior high—it was love at first play, and that goal was quickly changing. I threw myself into learning everything I could about the sport, attending clinics, and soaking up every volleyball opportunity that came my way.

High school was where things really took off. I was the only freshman at my school to make the JV team, I got brought up to the varsity team for playoffs that same year. I continued the rest of my high school career as a varsity team captain. It didn't stop there; I was blessed to play in college just like I dreamed about.

After college, I was invited back to my high school to help run a clinic. After helping with the clinic, I realized the passion I had for coaching. I coached for a year at my high school as the head freshman coach, where we had an undefeated season!

Life took me to San Diego, and just as I was looking into coaching opportunities there, like everyone else, my life was put on hold because of COVID. Fast forward a couple of years later, and my family got stationed in a little town I had never heard of—Jacksonville. The Lord placed this coaching opportunity in my path in an unexpected way, but I am absolutely grateful and looking forward to this upcoming season.
